Device for maintaining proper temperature and humidity in museum premises has arrived at the Lviv Museum of History and Local Lore on October 19, 2022 in Lviv, Ukraine. Representatives of the German museum association and the Ukrainian aid center ART AID for UKRAINE handed over 24 electric generators and 18 air dehumidifiers to Ukrainian museums. This week, modern devices for maintaining proper temperature and humidity in the premises of museums and fund storages arrived in Lviv, from where they are transferred to institutions located in the western regions of Ukraine. According to the director of the Lviv Museum of History and Local Lore Ihor Tymets, five trucks with goods necessary for the safety of museums have already arrived from German patrons, thanks to which it is possible to preserve in wartime the most valuable treasures that are in the museum funds. These items are not only of Ukrainian heritage, but are a part of European and world history. Without maintaining the proper level of humidity in the halls, metal products will be destroyed by corrosion.
